- Wine clearing house
I guess maybe this should be in a "Wine Business" category but I don't see one. Does anyone have any ideas/info on finding someone who can land and clear wine from Italy to the NY/NJ area? I have been searching on-line without a lot of luck for a company that could do this. I did find one once but they were in Florida and did not return email.
What I would be looking for ideally is someone that could legally accept the wine into the US and deliver it to the buyer on the wholesale level. Orders that would consist of at least a full palate as a minimum.
Thanks -

you need to find importers. You should try and check the US government agency TTB. They might be able to assist you in locating some or google NY wine importers.

There is an independent importer service as well that is used by many retailers to bring in their grey market goods. This might be a good route to take as well. Only drawback is that it can take several months or more for them to assemble a container in Europe.

Any updates on this? I contacted several customs agents last week and didn't get one response!

I came in contact last week at a trade event in Chicago with a company based in Princeton, NJ that provides this service. They handle direct imports providing label registration services, custom brokering ect. and eventual delivery to the buyer.
FYI, single palate shipping from Italy can be expensive.

Greg BTW Grand Vintage quoted me about $2 a bottle all inclusive from Italy delivered to NY - for a palate. I thought that sounded pretty good -
