When is the best time to drink certain wines?

Posted by chazzshy, Jan 13, 2009.

Hello Everyone,

So this New Year brought a lot of new wines as gifts, and therefore I have a new list to determine expiration dates. If anyone can help, that would be great!!

1. Monte Onton, Garnacha 2007
2. Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, Mionetto, White Wine,
3. Chateau Brane-Cantenac Margaux, 2003
4. Gran Reserva, Vallformosa, 2001
5. Chateau Grand-Puy Ducasse, Pauillac 2005
6. Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004
7. Cuvee Unique, Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru, 1996

That's It! Thanks! This site is great by the way!

Chazzshy - we have a new feature coming out for the end of next week that I think you'll really like. I'm keeping the details quiet at the moment, but, all your drink by date questions, as well as everyone elses will be answered by this feature - hang on for a few days - i think you'll really like it

Great. Yeah if this new feature can help out with my drink by date questions I would love to see it. Also I hope it's soon because I want to make sure I don't waste these wines!

In the meantime, do you know if anyone can assist with determining the expiration dates for these wines? If so, that would be greatly appreciated!

We'll (or at least the site) be able to answer all your questions in 6 days - i dont think any of the wines will go bad in that space of time. Hang tight, if you can.

This feature is fantastic! Do you know when more will be available? i.e: the other wines I have listed?

Chazzshy - glad you like it, its a pretty complex set of rules went into making it (we updated close to 1,000,000 wines with drink dates). I think that any wines that are missing drink dates are wines that have incomplete data fields, for example if the color or type of wine was never set, then that field will be blank and the algorithm won't add the date.

If you fill in the missing data then when the code runs and looks for new wines it will be updated.

Which ones are missing info? I'll check to make sure thats why the dates arent showing
