What goes with grilled Rainbow Trout?
Posted by KPutnam, Apr 8, 2008.

I am new at this whole pairing thing. We are going to a dinner party on friday where they are serving grilled rainbow trout. We are to bring the wine. Any suggestions?

Personally, I'd go for a dry Riesling, but not everyone likes Riesling. You could also try a Chenin Blanc, Chablis or other lighter-bodied low-oak Chardonnay.

Yeah, grilled trout is pretty light, so I would have said Chablis, or perhaps an Alvarinho - both are nice, crisp, less oaked whites and perfect with fish:
