Snowing heavy here, time for a nice roast Lamb and a bottle of South African Porcupine Ridge Shiraz and TV.

That is a perfect idea for that situation. Stay warm, full and tipsy :)

Porcupine Ridge is usually very reliable - especially for the price.  As a Canadian currently living in a relatively mild climate (Pacific Northwest - where normal winter temperatures are more like 6-10 degrees Celsius), I can relate having grown up in a very rigorous climate where temperatures could plummet to -40 degrees (either Fahrenheit or Celsius scale, in this instance).  Stick with those tannic reds for sustenance, but do let us know where you are located.  It seems even London - city of my student days - cannot escape the white stuff this winter...

Hi zufrieden,

we're just outside London, temp is about -6 degrees with about 4" of snow (pretty extreme for us).

Bit of snow and the country grinds to a halt, nevermind the wine was enjoyable.
