virginwines 15 bottles for 70$

Posted by ApelsecS, May 4, 2013.

Hello everyone,

I've got a "special offer" from virginwines - 15 reds for 70$. (it goes with a special code, so offer on the main page is not the same)

It's written on that web-site that these 15 bottles actually worth over $200, but they offer all for 70$.

I placed the order and waiting for the box on Tuesday, but still confused.

I did the quest trying to find other shops in google trading same bottles to figure out the real price of this offer and....
here is the surprise - I couldn't find anything about that wine!

I mean I've found some clones of virginwines site with the same web-interface and same price but nobody else sell them.

So how do you think, is that a scam? Why nobody else sell these bottles or made review on them? It seems to me they don't worth 200$

I have a couple bottles of a wine that's worth $2000 a bottle but I'll sell it to you for only $1000 per.

BTW, don't try to look them up on Google because Google doesn't have a way to judge quality and let me tell you, my wines are top quality. Please contact me quickly and send me your checking account number and bank routing number.

I also have a check for $200,000.00 that I want to cash but I need to post a bond first. If you can get me $30,000.00 tomorrow, I will split the check with you. We need to act fast!

Ok, if nobody interested in this topic, i'll just give my general expression.

- Wine was carefully packed ( check this picture ) and delivered on time.
- I really enjoyed bonus malbec, it was good.
- The rest wine, according to my experience, may be between 5 and 15$. I didn't test all types of wine from the box so far but tryed different types and think 70$ is actual price, not 200$ as they say. I'm going to add them all to snooth anyway.

Well I personally like to choose each bottle myself, but this kit is good for beginners to try wine from all over the world and it's also good to have for guest may be...
Not for experts definitely.

If you paid $70 and, by your estimate, the wines were probably worth $5-$15 per bottle, it sounds like you did OK.

I know you do not live in the U.S. Apelsecs.  Unfortunately, you have to get used to sales hyperbole--also, known as lying.  When they say it costs $70, but it is a $200 value, that means it's not really even a $70 value, and they are happy to take your money.

At least I don't think you've been screwed. Enjoy the wine.

Well, it's nice to see that you weren't too disappointed (at least you feel you got your 70 bucks worth)!

I just checked out the link to Virgin Wines to see for myself....it's THE "Virgin"..as in Richard-Branson-Virgin-Mobile/Virgin Galactic!

What a wacky world I live in. Time for another glass of wine.

A timely discussion, as it happens... Drag suits Branson rather nicely, I think. :)
