HondaJohn - I did once, along with a dessert Shiraz. Both were pretty jarring, although the dessert shiraz was the worst - very sickly and cough syrup tasting.
Akops - Not all VV's are frizzante, but in general for some simpler crisp whites i think a spritz of CO2 heightens the refreshing taste.

I may have to do some field research first before I weigh in...

Have you tried a 2006 Meda Margherita Moscato d'Asti? It is a FABULOUS desert wine, especially with a fruit pizza, with a natural "frizzante." Fizzy, but not fully sparkling like champagne.

Wine Mom - I dont even know what fruit pizza is. I do like my fair share of off dry, frizzante and dessert wines. Usually the german off dry wines or a sauterne or a canadian ice wine for full on syrupy sweetness.
The off dry german wines are great partners to spicy foods - thai and mexican, but the super sweet stuff is either dessert in itself or maybe with cheese or chocolate, maybe.
