Doesnt work too well in New York as there are strange laws about giving wine away for free, but this, along with those automatic wine dispenser units that will pour 2 oz pours are a great way to allow people to try more wines before they settle for a bottle they like.

Finally, a wine bottle size I can take with me on the plane! I wonder if I could fit 375 of them in a freezer bag...

I would love the idea of a variety box. Sample a bunch of one varietal, etc! I would have no problem paying for this. Very cool.

Not exactly the same Ocean, but you can get one of these wine aroma kits: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/prod...

I think they'd be cool, but ive never managed to get over the price tag. Also, I'd feel like an idiot for uncorking the "barnyard" scent in the house

At Wine Spectator I printed a few pages that basically tell me how to make my own aroma kit, much cheaper! I have already started accumulating some of the materials and will let you know how it goes. Most of you probably don't need it, but thought it would be fun for a get together!

Ocean - thats pretty cool. I can imagine gathering cedar, coffee, rose petals and some basics pretty fast, but I want to see you shaving down truck tires to create burned rubber or some of the funkier tastes.

I just want to see how he's going to collect 'barnyard' ;)

I think it's a fantastic idea. I love wine tastings, and this would be a great way to taste many different wines in one day.

Ha. I'm having a hard time coming up with a way to collect gooseberries. Still, barnyard is the best.

I'm also trying to imagine the look on my house guests' faces. "Oh, that's my collection of wet wool and saddle leather."
