- Thanksgiving Wine
I am always amazed as to what people have on Thanksgiving. Everything from Reisling, Pinot Noir to this wine they name George DuBoeuf Beaujolais Nouveau.. FIrst off this Beaujolais tastes what I used to have at Passover. Non vintage grape juice (AKA manischewitz).
People sample the other goods out there. Grab a Seghesio Zin with your bird (WS rated it #10 wine of the year and for around $20.00 it is a steal). Or try a great Pinot from Oregon, Cali or even Austrailia. Remember to enjoy the day and do not eat too much. If your family is like mine, then you will be hoarding your wine all to yourself since most of my family members can only enjoy a taste of wine before proclaiming that they are drunk. So that means more 2002 Arcadian Pinot Garys for me.
Cheers

Hey, what a minute! That is most definitely not an Australian pinot OR $20 Zin!
So is what you're saying "Buy your friends and family an Australian Pinot or $20 Zin and then hoard the good stuff yourself?
My Likey!
Actually I am with you regarding the Nouveau, though some people like it. I am also with you regarding Pinot and Zins, see our recent recommendations in both the Blog and on GDP on wine. And finally, I like the Gary's in a brown paper bag at your end of the table!
Happy Thanksgiving M.
See you soon.

I'd drink a Beaujolais Cru (morgon or similar) with my turkey, not a Nouveaux, which tastes similar to what I'd call Ribena - a beautiful sickly sweet blackcurrant tang drink from the UK:

Ribena ... we had that in Canada too. I can't say I was very fond of it. That might explain why I don't like Beaujolais that much. :-)
