They were able to get in a completely dry British GP despite all the storms surrounding the event.  If Alonso had been able to hang on, I'm sure that all the Spaniards would have been in a much more joyous mood.

We attended this event this afternoon and met up with Greg in the Snooth tent. There were a lot of Rioja wines to taste and there was some nice food to eat.I tasted several reds. The lightly oaked versions seemed to be fruitier than the Reservas and Gran Reservas I ended up buying three bottles.I was not sure about the live entertainment and the event was lucky being an outdoor event in that it did not rain

Had a lovely day at Tapas Fantasticas, luckily the weather was kind (at least it didn't rain). The event set on the banks of the river Thames overlooked with the splendid backdrop of  Tower Bridge, tasted lots of great Rioja's and eat some nice food.

It was also great to meet up with Greg in the Snooth Tent.

As Duncan pointed out there were lots of wines to taste from the fruitier lighter Crianza's to the richer Reserva's and Gran Reserva's. I personally really enjoyed wines from  Muga, C.V.N.E, Marques de Murrieta, El Coto, and Baron De Ley. Also had a good selection of Whites and Roses. Went on a very enjoyable 'Wine Walk' with TV Celebrity wine expert Susy Atkins

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the El Coto Imaz Gran Reserva and the Baron De ley Reserva's and I spent far too much time at the Muga tent .

All in all I had a fabulous day with good company, great atmosphere. music, food and  wine and of course met GDP

We're all pretty jealous, Spike/Duncan.

Sounds like it was a great event, and the pics are very cool.

Baron de Ley was one of the ones I tasted but the three I bought a bottle of were Covila,Taron and Club Privado.

Glad you liked the Olympic rings hanging from Tower Bridge as London's mayor wasted £30,000 of taxpayer's money on them

More from Tapas Fantasticas, another wine i really enjoyed ....

Medievo Reserva 2006 situated in Aldeanueva de Ebro in Rioja Baja in the southeast region, a winery that was only established in 2001.

A blend of Tempranillo 80%, Garnacha 10%, 5% Mazuelo and  Graciano.  Really enjoyed this Rich mature fruit  but with that traditional Vanilla and leathery taste, for me as good as some of the more expensive bottles on show.

As a side note we also got to see Tower Bridge opening while we were there with the Olympic rings retracted
