Suggestions for wine'ding down?

Posted by somedaykayla, Dec 23, 2010.

Hey everyone- I'm relatively new to my exploration of wine, though I do know that I prefer red's to whites... I've only really tried Cabarnet Sauvignon...

Wondering if you guys could suggest red's good for wine'ding down - without any food. :)

Thank you! <3

Can you tell us what you've liked about CS and what you haven't liked about whites?  Otherwise, this is way too broad a question.

Easy!  Since this is basically all that I do . . . Blackstone *Reserve* Merlot, $16.   Da Vinci chianti, $11 but you want to enjoy it on day 2 -- that means, uncork it Monday night, put the cork right back in, and enjoy it Tuesday night.  And a value monster, Rosemount Shiraz, $7.  For these 3, the price correlates to quality. So you will like the $7 a lot, but you'll love the $16.  Good luck.

Also some excellent easy drinking cabernets... Jade Mountain $12, Five Rivers, $11 (but only $9 at Total Wine), Lander Jenkins, $13.

A huge, warm and powerful cabernet is "gotham" Barossa Valley, at $15.
