Some sales/marketing person was stretching more than a sweater should, but then again I guess I'd rather have an under 10pound wine than an under 10pound cardigan!

I love this typically British embrace of the silly season. But seriously, the much excoriated Carignan can still be called into service on occasion for zing - especially in those wonderful villages of Roussillons or (decreasingly) Corbières. So... if the Cardigan was from an in-your-face in-law, then trade it for the wine - even if it is from a producer in Chile.
