I read a great article on the new "Atom" chip from intel - a very small new chip for handheld pc's and mobile phones and there was a great quote:
This was in response to the pace of development of the silicon chip industry...
"If Ford or toyota had innovated at a similar pace, a car would probably travel half the speed of light, and if you were going to San Francisco for a week it would be cheaper to throw out the car and buy a new one, than to feed quarters into the meter"
