I went here today. Its a pretty hyped place - i got there at midday and the line was an hour, i transacted my entire business meeting while standing in line, so at least i was productive.

Shake Shack has such a reputation, its been in Sex and the City, and is always busy.

Anyway, the food: Great, sloppy, freshly prepared burger. It really was tasty - no pretenses, nothing fancy, just freshly made, medium rare patty, cheese, fixings and a crappy little bun.

Overall it was awesome, but the line was a joke. Probably going to be my only visit..

People in New York are a different bread. I suppose it's mostly tourists and they are used to standing in line, but I really can't imagine standing for an hour to wait for food, I have a hard enough time putting my name on a waiting list and doing something else for the hour.

I've walked off of more lines in NYC than I've waited in. Magnolia comes to mind.

Best to make your way out to Brooklyn. We've got a lot more space!

The key is get there early! The line is full of native new yorkers who know a good burger.
