The Giro d'Italia is going full throttle and is just slightly more than half complete. The race started in Sicily this year and headed South toward the toe of Italy and then West to through the heel and Puglia.
The first Lucha Vino Giro d'Italia features a Washington Zinfandel taking on a Primitivo from Puglia.
Next up the illustrious Foxall is making another guest appearance. He will feature a California v. Northern Italy matchup inspired by the Tour of California vs. Giro d'Italia. I won't divulge the varieties in the matchup. You will have to wait for the big reveal coming next week.
Return of the Giro d' Italia

When I found out that cycling was full of dopers and the Giro might be fixed (see Lucha's latest blog post for the conspiracy theorist in you), I was worried about accepting Lucha's offer. Then I heard a rumor that wrestling might be fake, too. My integrity matters a lot to me. But I'll admit, I'm a glory hound, and Lucha does have a following!
So, luchadors, fans, cyclists, and lovers of Italian wine, go check out his very interesting matchup--Zin from Washington, who knew? I thought it was our state wine, but turns out I'm wrong--we have no official state wine.
I'll give a hint to our matchup: It's another very old grape beloved by our Italian immigrants who started the wine industry here. That's not a ton of help, though, is it?
