Anyone been to El Bulli?

And have always wondered, does anyone who wants to qualify have to serve San Peligrino?

Oh, man. Now we're talking.

Ramsay's falling out is not a surprise. Cuisine is moving away from the simple tastes and flavor pairings that he is a fan of at his places. Look at the top restaurants for the past few years (The Fat Duck, Pierre Gagnaire, and El Bulli, and then even move down to The French Laundry, Per Se, Bras, Mugaritz, Alinea, etc) and you see almost insane daring in terms of either (or both) flavor pairings and food techniques. Now the "molecular" movement is really taking off, and food really continues to evolve past what Ramsay is doing.

He's still a fantastic chef, but when Joel Robuchon is pwning you in originality in food pairing, then you gotta take a hard look inwards.

interesting to see this, but not surprising, have you caught a glimpse of Hell's Kitchen?

It's a joke in some aspects, but it's a middle-of-the-road representation of how a lot of fine dining kitchens are run. In fact, it's really hard to find good places that aren't run like that.
