- Place to Stay in NYC!!!
Hello folks. Listen up. I´m planning to go to NYC very soon, and stay for 15 days, it should be around november-december. One of my main ideas would be to get together with people from snooth and taste as many wines as I can. I´ve been checking hotels prices, and I gotta tell you, It scared me. I was wondering if any of you fellows from snooth would happen to have any ideas about cheaper but nice places to stay, perhaps even any of you would like to share an ap for that amount of time, It would be an easy way of making extra bucks and by lots of wines. I´ll be waiting to hear from you. byebye

I can't help you with a room but I have a few suggestions.
Rates will be higher in December. The break between Thanksgiving and December will be the most affordable period.
The Financial district can be an affordable, and fairly convenient (there are many subway lines there). Rates down there on the weekends in particular can be very reasonable. It is a bit of a dead zone in certain respects but it is also part of Manhattan so that is relative.
Try the Best western: http://www.bestwesternnewyork.com/hotels/best-western-seaport-inn-downtown/
Midtown east is more convenient and also a business traveler destination so you might be able to find something reasonable here as well.
Try 30/30 http://www.thirtythirty-nyc.com/index.htm
You can find some decent and inexpensive places in other fringe neighborhoods, on the edge of Union Square for example a friend stays at Hotel 17: http://www.hotel17ny.com
And finally take a look at Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com It's a great place to get info and you can frequently find better deals on the hotels you've selected by going directly to their website or searching around the web.
Let me know if this was helpful or if you need any further help.
