Hi there, can anyone help. I have a white oval box which contains a bottle of piper heidsieck 1976 rare inside with a piper brochure and sugared almonds. Could anyone tell me if this is something that would sell. It really is in excellent condition and has never left its box. Kind regards Tim

PH is definitely a well-known and well-respected house of champagne.
1976 is an excellent vintage.
I do trust that your bottle was stored properly.
Could your bottle be the 1976 Piper-Heidsieck Rare Millesime Brut (Price: $250-$420)?
Is it 750ml?
I would think that this one is not easily available any more on shelves!
I am going to do some research and come back to this matter.
Meanwhile, I am sure that our Snooth Mentors will expand and assist you. CHEERS!

While some people walk past PH to get to their beloved Veuve or Moet, I find the PH wines thoroughly engaging. One of the more recent Wine Spectator issues listed around 20 top class champagnes and the most recent bottling of the Rare made the list, beating out a lot of other bubbly.
I hope that your bottle is in good shape. If cellared or at least kept in a cool environment, vintage champagne can last a very long time.
