I was given a bottle of this wine as a gift. Vintage is 2006 and is a product of Verona, Italy. Anyone know this wine, when to drink, etc.?

Hi Fred,

You've got a blend of Corvina, Cabernet and Merlot. It's a sort of super Valpolicella/Amarone. The grapes are dried for 3 months before vinification making this a rich, powerful wine, smooth with a noticable oak imprint from barrique ageing. It is ready to drink today but should improve over the near term and drink well for several years after that. For my palate, I would allow the wine to age for another year or three to allow the oak to mellow.

Thank you for the help Gregory. It sounds very nice, but I'll give it another few years before drinking it.
