Introduce Yourself

PIACERE!

Hi snooth members!

Buongiorno! How rude of me not to introduce myself sooner! I am so honored to be a part of the mentor program for specializing in the PIemonte region.

I was raised in both Sonoma and Napa and at 22 years old randomly found myself plopped into an unknown land... Piemonte, Italy. Little did I know this place was a mecca for wines! The best of the best! Ironically it was not until I started living here and exploring that I found this deep rooted passion for wine, especially from my new region.

From there, I visited many wineries and have devoured wine books like The Wine Bible and Vino Italiano. On my latest trip home to Napa I took my first formal wine class at the CIA and just keep getting more and more hooked. I am becoming a wine education junkie now!

In the meantime, I discovered that blogging is my outlet and other passion. This is where I talk about winery visits, food experiences, etc. ( http://www.italianna.com) and last year I was able to attend the European Wine Bloggers Conference in Franciacorta on a scholarship which really expanded my knowledge.

My journey into the intricate and fascinating world of wine has just begun and I can't wait to dedicate my life here in italy to starting a wine tour business, and give advice on this breathtaking region. Piemonte talk is more than welcome! Andiamo e beviamo!

Wow, we're getting a lot of Italian expertise these days.   Pretty soon we'll all be singing "Libiamo ne'lieti calici."

I look forward to learning even more, now, about Italian wine.

Nice to officially make your acquaintance.  I've been really enjoying your work here and look forward to hearing more.  You're certainly in the perfect place to be reporting on Piedmont.  I'll check out your blog.  Are you on twitter as well?

Nice to meet you Anna, it's good to have someone on the ground in Piedmont. It's rare you find someone going from Napa to Italy, it's usually Napa to Bordeaux ; )

Look forward to reading about your adventures and tips.

Hi Anna,

My wife and I are planning a trip next May and would love to get an insiders view of where to go and not to go in Piedmont and Tuscany.

Ciao, Anna,

Il piacere e' mio. Nice to meet you!! My husband and I adore Italy-- the people, the vistas, the food, the art and music, and , of course, the wine!!! We've traveled all over italy from the Amalfi Coast all the way north, enjoying the small towns and the great wines. We were fortunate to have stayed in the Piemonte two years ago in a small B&B in Vergne, just outside of Barolo and to have befriended Cesare Boschis and his wife ,Lidia, who own a delightful little osteria in the the village. Cesare is an enologist who is easy to talk to.. about wine AND food. Do you know them?

I'm looking forward to reading your blog on the things I love most Thanks for your expertise!

I think I had you on my RSS-feed a while back after a good article, but haven't been good at looking at it. Good to see you here! I should have gotten in touch last time I was in Piemonte, love that region. Such friendly people too - I've never been taken such good care of as a single foodie traveler as there!

I'll follow you and please do feel free to be in touch if you travel anything to the regions I specialize in!
Best

Mi piacere conoscerti, Anna. Buona vacanza.  We celebrated our anniversary Wednesday with a Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Pianorosso Brunello 2001.  We'd saved it for a special occasion, and it was certainly worth the wait.  Cin cin.

Do let me know if you need tips on visits in Chateau-neuf du Pape or around there. One of my favorite regions - will be doing harvest this year at Domaine Duseigneur near Lirac.

I'll add you on Twitter, and you too Eric. Please feel free to follow me back, I'm quite active there.

Best from Stockholm!
/Erica
