- Pancho Campo's Wine Academy of Spain Hits the Road
After the success of its pilot program last year, Pancho Campo, the first and, so far, only Spanish MW, is bringing his immersion course on Spanish wines to North America. After speaking with some people who have taken this course in 2008, I am very excited that it is back for 2009.

In two days the Spanish immersion course covers the wines, wine laws and grape varieties of all the major Spanish wine regions including: Rias Baixas, Galicia, Aragon, Navarra, Castilla, Rioja, Cava, Cataluna & Andalucia with intensive tastings (about 30 wines per day). Since the course is just $395, or $316 for members of the Society of Wine Educators and WSET students, it seems like a very fair deal.
There are upcoming dates all across the country (DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Vegas, Denver, San Fran, LA, etc). Also, there's a half day course on Sherry and the wines of Andalucia being offered the day after the 2-day course.

FYI - I will be attending the NYC courses in May. I look forward to seeing some other Snoothers there!

Looks like a great course. Thanks for the tip. I just wish the SF course was over the weekend instead of a Thursday/Friday.

Hey, it looks like Pancho has the same studious expression that Adam does in his Avatar image...
RBoulanger - thanks for posting, I'll forward to some bloggers focussed on the region.
