Our new venue is the North Square Restaurant on Washington Square Park with a new price - $80
We will have the private Deco room for our celebration from 7:00 to 11:00. Tickets can now be purchased here:
http://snoothbyob.eventbrite.com/
For all you who purchased ticket you entire purchase price will be refunded to the credit card you used to make the original purchase. Both Snooth and Astor Center apologize for ant inconvenience this may have caused you. But we are on and i for one plan on bringing better bottles than ever!
Well we did it. It's official, Open that Bottle Night will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Style as we work together with Wilson Daniels to deliver an evening filled with fine wine, friends, a sumptuous spread, and a chance to participate in the Twitter Taste Live global interactive wine tasting featuring four wines provided by Wilson Daniels:
2005 Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss Kritt Pinot Blanc Les Charmes, Alsace
2006 Domaine Pierre Morey Aligoté, Burgundy
2005 Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss Perrières, Costières de Nîmes
2006 Tenuta di Biserno Insolgio del Cinghiale, Toscana IGT
If you will not be able to join us for dinner in New York City please join us as we twitter away the night. Open That Bottle Night is a national event and we encourage all of our members to open something special and join us via Twitter to share your impressions. Post your notes the nest day on Snooth and follow the discussions in the forum. This will be a great way to bring all of us together as we share wines, exchange opinions and celebrate our common passion.
While this is a real live event I want to personally invite each and every one of you to participate as you can. The point of the evening is to explore and discover new wines while sharing with friends and family. Introduce a new friend to great wine, surprise a loved one with that special bottle or slip an undiscovered gem into a blind tasting with your connoisseur friends. There are so many ways to turn Open That Bottle Night into a great memory! Let's hear what yours will be!
This year’s Open That Bottle Night theme is, in fact, exploration and discovery, and to start off on the right foot guests will be greeted with a glass of Schramsberg’s Cremant, a sparkling wine made from the rare Flora Grape, a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer.
The festivities will continue with several magums that participants have the opportunity to vote on such as magnums of 1993 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux and 1983 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, by using the poll on Snooth’s home page.
Check out all the great wines in the poll now!
See you all there!

Crushed, absolutely crushed, I won't be able to make it.
I promise to buy the first ticket available for the next wine dinner!

I wasnt sure if "crushed" meant sad, or too busy with work, and I was going to ask who works on a saturday night! Next time then...
I think the tickets are all sold out at this point.

The event was a huge success - a big thank you to Wilson Daniels to sponsoring with their great wines, North Square for hosting, Greg for organizing, and to Mike for photographing. A lot of excellent wines, and a lot of tasting notes to come. Some real treats: 83 Magnum of Stags Leap, 94 Steinmetz Spatlese, 91 Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay, 87 Kistler and the 2004 Phelps Bakus.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
