Well we did it. It's official, Open that Bottle Night will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Style as Astor Center and Snooth work together with Wilson Daniels to deliver an evening filled with fine wine, friends, a sumptuous spread, and a chance to participate in the Twitter Taste Live global interactive wine tasting featuring four wines provided by Wilson Daniels:
2005 Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss Kritt Pinot Blanc Les Charmes, Alsace
2006 Domaine Pierre Morey Aligoté, Burgundy
2005 Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss Perrières, Costières de Nîmes
2006 Tenuta di Biserno Insolgio del Cinghiale, Toscana IGT
If you will not be able to join us for dinner in New York City please join us as we twitter away the night. Open That Bottle Night is a national event and we encourage all of our members to open something special and join us via Twitter to share your impressions. Post your notes the nest day on Snooth and follow the discussions in the forum. This will be a great way to bring all of us together as we share wines, exchange opinions and celebrate our common passion.
While this is a real live event I want to personally invite each and every one of you to participate as you can. The point of the evening is to explore and discover new wines while sharing with friends and family. Introduce a new friend to great wine, surprise a loved one with that special bottle or slip an undiscovered gem into a blind tasting with your connoisseur friends. There are so many ways to turn Open That Bottle Night into a great memory! Let's hear what yours will be!
This year’s Open That Bottle Night theme is, in fact, exploration and discovery, and to start off on the right foot guests will be greeted with a glass of Schramsberg’s Cremant, a sparkling wine made from the rare Flora Grape, a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer.
The festivities will continue with the uncorking of a rare gallon bottle of 1971 Borgogno Barolo and participants will have the opportunity to vote on other wines to be served during the evening, such as magnums of 1993 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux and 1983 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, by using the poll on Snooth’s home page.
Check out all the great wines in the poll now!
During our catered three course dinner you will have the opportunity to trade tastes from your bottles with other diners at your table or feel free to search the room for friends new and old. Astor Center is located at 399 Lafayette St, just above Astor Wines & Spirits in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. Please be prepared to bring one bottle per person to dinner.
We expect demand for this event to be high so sign up soon.

Booked for myself, +1
I'll sit anywhere, but like the sound of Germany, or Cali Cabs, or Rhone, or West Coast Pinot. OK, thats half the tables already

Just booked. West Coast Pinot Noir would be great or Burgundy.

Ok, I just bought myself a ticket.
Does the table we want to sit at have to correspond to what we are bringing? If not then Burgundy, or Bordeaux would be my preferences. If so, I still have to figure out which bottle I want to bring. The '89 Argentine Cab Sav is in the lead at the moment.

Got to clear the schedule to make sure I can indeed come.
Just to set the record straight, no I am not going to bring the 1873 Madeira this time, but you won't be disappointed with what I dig up.

Funny I have some Madeira sitting on my desk. 1898, 1880, 1910. I'm not bringing those either.
Not sure what bottle I'll be bringing.
Finding out then will be part of the fun!

As much as I would like to come, Saturday evenings are rather rough for me at the moment. Have fun and let me know when the next one is.
Cheers

I'm in and would probably be most useful at the Piedmont or Tuscany table. Looks like I'm bringing a Barolo, still settling on the vintage.

Well we're off to a good start. TIme to write this all up for tomorrow's email.
Judging from the poll it looks like Barolo is in the lead with Burgundy and California Cabernet close on its heels!
