Notification emails ...

Posted by John Andrews, Jun 6, 2008.

Guys, I noticed that I don't 'always' get notified when there is a reply to a topic I've contributed to in TALK. Is there a specific algorithm for how this works?

Basically, you should get notified the first time there's a response to a thread you started / commented on. The emails dont get sent immediately, but you should find out within 30 minutes or so.

If you dont visit the page, you wont get notified again. However, after you visit the page, you will be notified the next time someone posts.

Basically - the idea is if you dont care, you wont come visit the page, and then you wont get any further notifications, but if you come back to the page it means you are interested and will get another notification.

There was some talk about an "unfollow" option, but i dont know if we ever worked up the graphic for it - mark?

It's worth reviewing. I'll take a peek in the code tomorrow, but Philip is right that it should be working that way.

I think we have the unfollow graphic ready but it's not prioritized at the top of the list. Is this something that people would think is very important to have?
