GDP on Wine

Napa last week, Santa Cruz Mtns two weeks prior, and Sonoma coming up in 10 days

This travel is brutal but I must admit that I'm having some fun. Great wines in so many places and Napa is simply gorgeous this time of year. Where would you want to go this time of year?

"Napa is simply gorgeous this time of year"

Are you suggesting that there is a time of year when it is not simply gorgeous?

We're are looking forward to your report's, Greg.

This is a guess.  Was that picture taken from Pritchard Hill?

When the view is of someone else's bumper, less attractive. And the mustard helps.

Bingo, top of Chappellet.

Oh, yeah, traffic.  As an Angeleno I hear you loud and clear.

Chappellet!!!  Now, I'm really looking forward to your report.

GDP, are you going to be in Sonoma on Tuesday the 5th? A few of us are having dinner at The Girl and the Fig. A few ITBs and a  couple winemakers. Let me know if you would like to join us! Syrah themed evening.

I'd love to visit some US wine producing regions, so am vaguely envious. But my answer to "Where would you want to go this time of year?" is always Burgundy ;-)

Though maybe in February I should pick the southern Rhône ...

This time of year, no place I can think of better than Napa and Sonoma.  The mustard is indeed nice, as I mentioned elsewhere.  Not covered in snow as some places in France would be.  On the other hand, I've never spent February in Tuscany or Sicily.  And they do make wine in Greece, which could be pretty lovely.  (Note that I have spent February in France, including the Rhone and Champagne and I was freezing everywhere but Avignon, which was nice, but I think I will still take Napa/Sonoma with the mustard.  Lavender doesn't really do it for me, since I am allergic to it. But Avignon still isn't a bad call.)

So any chance you can haul a couple bottles out here when you come?  Then we can share them with OT.
