Looking for help determining the value of a couple of bottles

Posted by bartonk, Jan 30, 2011.

Appreciate insight anyone may be able to offer on current price/value of these wines:

1998 Domaine Latour-Giraud  Maranges 1er CRU  (Red Burgundy Wine)

1994 Herederos del MARQUES de RISCAL  Rioja  reserva

Also welcome input on how long they should remain drinkable.

Thanks!

The Rioja can possibly get you around 100 bucks, if you can prove perfect storage.

I only looked quickly, but I couldn't find any definite pricing on the Maranges.

Storage/provenance is key. Think more in terms of drinking, enjoying it yourself. If storage has been decent, they both could be quite enjoyable.

Maranges is in the southernmost part of the Cotes de Beaune, and isn't generally given that much cachet, but there's no reason it can't be an enjoyable wine. Probably a good idea to drink it soon, though.
