Just Noticed the "Events" Feature in My Profile

Posted by EMark, May 22, 2012.

How long has that been there?  If you tell me it's been there for the last 6 months, I'm going to be quite embarassed.  It's pretty cool.

I guess I'm OK with targeted marketing.  I was pleased to see that there is an event at a restaurant no more than about 15 minutes from my house on Thursday.  If I did not have other obligations on Thursday, I would have given it consideration.

If "Events" is new, and I sure hope that it is, then thank you very much.  I feel this does add value to Snooth.

I noticed it about a couple of weeks ago, and agree that it adds value to the Snooth experience.  I have already attended one of the tastings and found it to be a very different experience than my first tasting.  Nice and subdued.  ;-)

Local events include:

Gracianna Winemakers Dinner at John Ash & Co

Pinot Family Reunion at the Vintners Inn

West fo West Festival in Occidental - Sonoma Coast wines at their best

Pinot on the River in Healdsburg

Taste of Sonoma/WineCountry Weekend at MacMurray Ranch and beyond

Wine events? I got a million of em.

Hey guys, thanks for noticing!  It's a somewhat experimental feature implemented to gauge interest in local wine events - I think we could do a lot of cool stuff here.  Your feedback definitely helps us decide how much to put into it in a way that metrics alone can't.  Cheers :)

And since I'm in Tokyo that must be why it's not in my profile?

Sounds like a great new addition, but you might want to think about putting it some place other than the profile since if anyone's like me they don't check that profile very often....

I realize the OP mentions that he found it in his profile D but under "FUN" in the main menu header the sublink for "EVENTS" shows up as well.

Thanks, outthere. I had seen it before under 'Fun' but I was responding here to the apparent tabbing under 'profile'. Either way it's hard to find. I think it's quite possible that most people miss events that many of them would consider attending. How to bring it more to the fore?

For what it's worth, since I'm outside the country I apparently get the default which is NYC. Which I suppose brings up the question of whether Snooth wants to make your location selectable....

Under my profile it lists NoCal events. One of the ones Ialready mentioned btw. West of West or WOW which is probably the best one of allthe Northern California events for this mans palate. True Sonoma Coast and nothing else..
