Sunday morning here in Tokyo. Am thinking syrah later in the day with a chicken-and-olive tagine dish--either Hermitage, or an Australian Shiraz...

Unfortunately it was a disappointing Clerico Barbera from 2005. Dinner was good though, cooked for my family and made a fresh sauce with penne and eggplant parm.

Finishing off a less than spectacular 2006 Château de Brandey. I think I'll keep the second bottle in the cellar for a few years and revisit it.

Leitz Riesling - very very nice. One of my favorite sub $20 wines in fact.

Sunday morning here in Stockholm. Yesterday evening I had an Argentine wine with dinner, Finca Quara Reserva 2006 from Cafayate Valley, consisting of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It was ok but nothing special.

Philip, have to agree on the Leitz, fantastic bottle.
I am finishing off a bottle of Yalumba 2006 Shiraz/Viognier, Barossa. Can't say it was amazing, but it was certainly unique. Came home after watching "Law Abiding Citizen", good evening in general.

1999 Cantina Rotaliana Teroldego Riserva Clesurae. Delicious with deep, rich chili and a surprisingly good match with Sauerkraut!
