iPhone Beta Feedback - Release 2.2.1

Original post by Chris Carpita, Jan 10, 2013.

Please reply to this post if you wish to leave specific feedback or general commentary.   Thanks!

We're currently closed for beta applicants, but if you reply below you can be at or near the top of the wait list - this unfortunate limit is imposed by Apple, which restricts us to 100 new beta devices per year.

@1RockiesFan That is definitely part of the plan, expect to see it within the next few months!

I just upgraded to an Iphone5, and now I cant download the test app. Am I SOL, or can I still download?

No, not SOL, though you can't use the current release.   Every iPhone device must be approved via Apple, so I added your iphone 5 to the provisioning profile, and you'll be able to use the next beta release.  Cheers!

Here are my notes so far as I'm still exploring...

- I would love to see ALL the lists I've saved from the website in the app (in addition to just the wish list) for reference in stores and even restaurants. My main use for the app is for quick access to lists and articles as I look for wines that have been suggested in them by the snooth writers.

- When searching for a particular wine, the search function has a "find only nearby wines" option. Even when I use that filter, I still get stores as far as VA and NJ, and I live in the Atlanta area. To me, nearby store is one within the state at the very least, so I'd love to be able to control the range of this filter.

- I'd like to be able to search the article section and have a way to filter through the available articles for either a specific article or for an article about certain types of wine, etc. (keyword search or title search)

- This next one is really an issue I have with the website, but also to keep in mind for the app. I would also like to save articles and the lists/tasting notes within them, but there is only a "save list" button on the website for some of the articles. I would love a function for "save article" on the website that corresponds and links to the "save article" option in the app, or at least an option to "save list" for every article that has reviews and tasting notes for specific wines.

- I still can't get the search engine to show me a single wine in GA! I've tried looking for bottles I know have to be in every grocery store and Total Wine, (like Louis Jadot Macon Villages) but still all I get are stores in NY, NJ, even FL...but no GA!:( I guess no stores in GA have their inventories loaded into the app yet?)
- Also, how about a reverse search function, where you put in a specific wine and it pulls up its matching search criteria (flavor profile, etc.)
- I, like many others, would also love to see that wine/food matching function that works in BOTH directions.
