Introducing the Deal Finder

Posted by Chris Carpita, Mar 14, 2013.

Recently we launched a new feature that some of you might find really useful- it's called the Deal Finder.   You can get to the Deal Finder by clicking on "Buy" or "Best Deals" at the top of this page.

The deal finder takes our 3.3MM+ price points and looks for sales discounts on highly rated wines found in stores near you.   You can even search for a particular term like "Bordeaux" and create your own personalized weekly deal alert e-mail (sent thursdays).

Eventually we're looking to expand the functionality to allow for multiple alerts and more fine-tuned searches, but we think what we have so far is pretty good.   Please give it a try and let GDP and I know your thoughts!

Chris, I never order wine on-line, but I looked at your new feature and was sucked into it pretty quickly.  So, I guess I am of the opinion that it looks pretty good.

I do have a request for clarification, though.  Do I decode "3.3MM+" as "more than 3.3 million?"  That is my best guess.

Yes that's correct; sometimes the jargon of the tech world slips through, sorry!

Seems like a good idea,Is it going to work all round the world or only in the USA?

We're launching it in the USA, but we certainly hope to be able to move quickly to other regions. I think it's a killer tool, and fun to play with too!

@Duncan - we're working on building up our list of retailers in the UK/Europe.  At the moment it's a bit spottier there as it depends more on the merchants giving us info on sale prices, but we will eventually have this working for everyone around in the world.

Sounds like a great tool my question is you indicate that it will show stores near me however when I hit the button with my email it did not provide a way to customize for my zip code . One of the problems living in Texas is finding  a retailer that will ship to texas
