Impressive review totals.

Posted by gr, Dec 23, 2008.

So, Philip made a show of it when he hit 1000 reviews, but somehow RBoulanger has snuck past and blown Philip's count out of the water.

These have GOT to be the two highest on the site, right?

RBoulanger - 1424
Philip - 1090

You guys should throw parties when you break 1500...

Actually, Philip deserves credit as all of his were submitted via the site.

90% of my reviews were submitted by using Snooth's new(ish) Excel/CSV template
http://www.snooth.com/partners/template/

Watch out for Gregory... he's already up to 929 and is reviewing at a breakneck pace!

I can't match all that, but take THIS, HondaJohn:

You might hold the all-time non-Snooth employee talk post record. Oh wait, aren't you kind of a contract employee?

Hey wait, I'm a non-Snooth Employee and I'm almost at 100 posts. But, congrats GR, 105 posts in a month. I may still get that but ... with things slowing down there may not be much for me to comment on.

Employee is a strong word, but I've certainly received a check or two from Snooth for various services rendered, so I think I'm probably DQed on any competitions. I expect my running total (467 after this is submitted) is far below the overall tally (Philip's about to cross 2000, I believe). Maybe I can get "most cocktail recipes"? ;^>

John, it's a rolling total (ie, not "for the month of December" but for the past N--Mark, 28? 30? 31?--days), so you should have no trouble getting there.

I was hoping on hitting 1000 wines by the end of the year but my tasting groups all skip December!

Looking forward to adding 150 notes in January so I can get back on track here!

Greg, what, you can't manage to get through 71 wines during the holiday season on your own power? That's just not trying! ;^>

Come on Greg... if you can do those 71, I'll match your efforts and find 76 de novo tasting notes on random slips of paper somewhere in my office.

Haha - great thread - I held the lead for so long, but Rodolphe flew past thanks to a 1,000 wine import.

Truth be told I did import around 250 notes waaaay back in 2007 - they were from the Gambero Rosso and some Burgundy tasting I went to

Hmmm ... all my wines are hand entered and _most_ have more than just a ranking. :-)

71 new wines over the next should be easy. Question is can I take all the notes and then enter them?

If old notes that have yet to be entered count I'll see what I can do!!

All that matters is that little maroon number, Greg.

(And all you get is Internet adulation... unless you decide to throw a "Snooth users over 1000 ratings" party or something.)

Er... I guess that party would be "Rodolphe visits the Snooth offices, come to think of it.

How did GR roll back from 100 to 92 posts for the month?

It's not "posts in the month of December" it's "posts in the last 4 weeks". That may seem counter-intuitive, but it actually makes more sense because:

1. It avoids people wasting a lot of bandwidth and space dumping meaningless posts on the first of the month to get their avatar at the top of the list and, instead, recognizes people who contribute regularly. (Not that that can't still be abused, but you have to keep being a jerk rather constantly, and I think Snooth's target demographic skews away from that crowd just by virtue of its content.)
2. It means that there's always a number there representative of the regular traffic on Snooth when new people show up. Even if it'd be easily understood as "Oh, it's just the second of the month" for the top poster to have 6 posts, it "looks" better this way.

I won't make the magic 1000 in 2008 but tonight I'll add another 20 or so to my total. I'll see what I can do.
