I'm a novice, but I do enjoy the Barefoot Moscato

McGuigan's Black label, tastes like Nyquil!

Apothic Red has fairly high sugar content ( for a dry red). I was somewhat surprised by this wine - very interesting flavor profile and not as jammy as I was expecting.

Most cheap red has excessive residual sugar, but then there are also the fortified wines with loads of white death.  It greatly depends on what you seek... a sweetish red (like the aforementioned Apothic Red, a favourite of high school students continent-wide) or a wine noted for its sugar.  Given your desire for cheap, I would recommend something like Marsala (Sicily) or Marvodaphne (Pelopennesus, Greece) both of which have some aspirations to quality without giving up much in price.

I was amused by Zufrieden's comment about Apothic Red being a favorite of high school students as it reminded me of my first wine, as a high school student  (40+ years ago): Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill. Now there was a sweet wine for you, and a favorite of high school students everywhere back then!
