I came across an article about the first hybrid refrigerated trucks for wine delivery. The technology promises up to 50% reduction in emissions. Wow!

Okay this is a good idea, but really not what I was expecting from the title of "reefer." I'm expecting pictures of guys smoking out around all the bottles.

That's a great step forward. 50%! Also, refrigerated trucks are great for shipping wines in the summer months. The better to get good wines to a thirsty public with.

@Ocean - gotcha with the industry jargon!

@Mark - Super Premium and Icon wines (say $25 and up) regularly travel in reefer trucks and are expensive enough to be transported by hybrids. The problem is, how economical is this for the 97% of wine that is a commodity business where every penny counts?

@Ocean ... OMG, you and I think alike. I was thinking a truck kind of like was in the Cheech & Chong movie 'Up In Smoke'

LOL Honda - nice blast from the past. However, despite knowing the reefer = refrigerated truck, i was thinking the wrong thing too

Why do you think I put it in the subject line?
