Glad to meet you, Rob.  I'm not much of a Pinot guy, but if you have a recommendation, I'll try to seek it out.

Millen?  The drifter?

OK, a little bit of i-net searching leads me to Rhys Vineyards who, sure enough, are located in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  It looks interesting, but there is no information on costs.  It appears that the only way to procure their wine is to get on their mailing list.

OK, Outthere, I took you up on Halcon, and that one turned out to be golden.  They have some truly great products, and I am incredibly impressed at how they have treated me.  So, based solely on your four letter and one exclamation point recommendation, I am going to try to get on the Rhys mailing list.

Thanks, Bud.

Good luck with that. The Waitlist is years long. Look for it in the secondary market. Unlikely as that may be.

Mark, a great alternative would be the Ceritas list. Should be easier to crack, though not Santa Cruz. They'll have plenty of wine to sell next year from what I hear. Failing the list, you can order through me.

Yup, OT, they're saying 1 - 2 years.

John, I think I am now on the Ceritas list.  We'll see what if I make it to customer status.

Yeah, Rhys is a critical darling.  Even after they had filled the list, Eric Asimov wrote this gushing article. I have yet to try any, but got an email from BPWines if you want to try some from their recent cellar purchase stash of Rhys.I was kind of tempted, but I also have lots of other Pinots that eat up my budget, like Roar and Goldeneye, plus just the medium priced ones I try to keep on hand.  Thankfully I don't spend money on cars or golf or too many other pursuits beside wine, but Pinot will drain your account faster than most wines.
