Introduce Yourself

Hi from Brazil...

Posted by EduardoMB, May 26, 2011.

Hi, my name is Eduardo Milani Berselli, i'm 29 years old, from Brazil. I live in Bento Goncalves, Rio Grande do Sul (Serra Gaucha). I'm a winemaker and wine lover.
Particularly in Brazil is easy to see that consumers have great difficulty in choosing their wines because they lack information, and there is a large number of labels in the market. This must also happen in other parts of the world.
I liked a lot of the initiative of this site!

I hope to collaborate with my tastings...and sorry my english. : )

Welcome, Eduardo, happy to see you at Snooth.

So what kinds of wines are you making now, and what kind do you want to make in the forseeable future?

Hi Eduardo,

Welcome to Snooth.

I must say I have been curious about the wines of Brazil so far we only have one that come's into Australia that I have tasted had so much mercaptans you couldn't drink it, now I'm sure there are others but I don't know of anyone else bringing in Brazilian wines.

As you are connected in the indusrty (I was wondering if I could be so bold) could you please see if anyone else is bringing in any other wines to Australia at this point? (although I understand if not with our dollar atm).

Look forward to seeing your posts on vintage and other woundros things your doing over there.

Hi dmcker, I did degree in enology, and worked some time in some wineries here in the region, but now I'm finishing degree in civil engineering, and am working with it. As for wine, is a hobby for now. I make wine with my father for our consumption. This year I made a great merlot and cabernet sauvignon. In the future when i have more time and money, I intend to invest in production of quality wines, particularly in sparkling wines, because we have excellent grapes here for this type of wine.

fibo86, Brazilian wines have improved greatly, there are many quality wines here, many wines are winning competitions around the world, particularly in my region, we have a great potential for sparkling white wines of excellence. i'm sad that the only proved that you were so bad. I know many people in the wine industry here, many owners are my friends. I'll find wines that are sent to Australia, and if you allow me, can tell you what you should test.

Thanks Eduardo, I'll look forward to any and all info.

I'm also sure there is much more out there to taste than my unfortunate encounter and please tell me who I should be looking for and whom I can see (distributer) re Brazilian wines.

Keep us in the loop, hugs to you too.
