Hi Just found this fantastic site, I am the owner and winemaker at Blaxsta wine in Sweden

Primarely I produce icewine from our own Vidal blanc grapes. For some , if not, most, wine lovers,

it may sound too much to beleive that it would be possible to grow grapes in Sweden, but the trouth is, we have 25% more daylight hours during growing season than Bordeaux. In addition, the average temperature May - September is less than 1 degree difference in comparison to the Mosel-valley

The vintages Vidal ice wine 2007, 2008 and 2009 all have received over 95p (Parker) and won gold at International wine challenges (Wine Masters Challenge, IWSC; etc)

Welcome, Goran and Ulrika. Imagine you have many interesting stories to tell us about growing grapes, making wine, operating a winery and running a restaurant up in Sweden?!

Hi again, yes this is a busy time and winter is finally behind us and spring around the corner.

winterpruning is more or less done in the vineyards and as soon as it gets a little bit warmer, we will spray each vinestock with a mixture of calcium and minerals. The 2014 vintage will be one of our very best ever and it will be a great pleasure to serve our restaurant guests this vintage. We are also in the process of interviewing summer staff both for the restaurant and other summer jobs.

I just came home from Germany (worked as a judge for sparkling wines at the largest wine competition held at the show PROWEIN) and tasted some absolutley mindblowing and sensual champagnes and other sparkling wines. As a result, on April 30 I will host a grand dinér amical serving a special 5-coarce dinner specially matching the top 5 champagnes and sparkling wines from the competiotion. So, imagine as a guast, that you will be served the top 5 sparkling wines of the world at the very same dinner. We still have some tables and hotel rooms left so most welcome to make reservation.

Very interested in what those champers/sparklings are, and how you plan to match them.

Sorry but no plans to make it to Sweden next month, though if you send me/post a link for the event I'll pass it on to friends who are closer...

I'd love to be at that table when you pour the top 5 sparkling wines of the world!  No vacation time for me yet, though.  I am going to check out the website.
