Robert, welcome to the Snooth Forum. We look forward to learning about your wine discoveries.
I, ocassionally have a problem finding specifc wines in the Snooth database. There are a couple strategies for making sure it's not there or adding a new entry.
First, try entering your target wine without entering a vintage year. Try this for adding a wine to the Snooth Database. For example I keyed "Turnbull Oakville Sauvignon Blanc" into the search box and Snooth responded with a list of suggested wines. Here is a screen shot of a portion of the response:
I've added the black arrow pointing to the entry that best matches the wine I'm looking for. Clicking on that link takes me to the 2011 entry of that Turnbull wine:
Again, I've added the black arrow pointing to all the vintages of the Turnbull SB in the Snooth database. If I am looking for the 2009 vintage, all I have to do is click on the "2009" link, and I will be taken to the entry for 2009. For the sake of discussion, let's say that I am looking for the 2010 vintage. 2010 is not listed in the list of vintages. So, if you look immediately below the lists of vintages you will see an "Add a vintage" link. Clicking on that link will take you to a form that looks like this:
From this form all you have to do is enter the disired year, and a new record for the 2010 vintage will be created.
Now, let's say that your winery--or your specific wine--is not to be found at all in the in the Snooth database. In the following example, I entered gibberish into the Search box and the following response was returned:
Notice the two black arrows that I have added. Click on either of those two links and you will be presented with a form that will allow you to add all the details of your wine.
Good luck, and we look forward to hearing more from you.
