I love wine, it is like history in a bottle. I love walking the vineyards and imagining the conversations that have taken place there throughout the years. Beginning an appreciation for French wines. In the past, I felt overwhelmed by the complexity of these wines. Enjoying how French wine loves to be served with good food. A beautiful marriage!
Spanish wines are on the horizon. Hoping to do a cycling trip to introduce us to these beauties. Had a great experience doing this in the Cotes du Rhone region.
Overall, I consider myself a beginner. I'm not sure how sensitive my palate is to the subtleties of the drink, but I am enjoying the pursuit! I love to learn! I love to eat and drink good food and wine! Need I say more?

Welcome to the Snooth Forum, TH. You will find many like-minded people, here--we all love to learn, we all enjoy good food with good wine, many of them (not me, obviously) are cyclists, and in one way or another we are all "beginners." I have enjoyed wines for over 40 years, and, yet, I have barely scratched the surface.
One of the best things about this forum is the camaraderie. We are all friends, here. In addition to wanting to learn, we also want to share with others. Please keep us up to date on your wine discoveries and please feel free to ask questions. I'm sure that several, here, would enjoy hearing about your Cotes du Rhone trip, and I would not be surprised if some had suggestions for a trip to Spain.

I'm not sure motorcycling counts as being a cyclist, but I do love riding my Harley and my chopper. DV is a cyclist however and you two should probably get together. Anyway, welcome to the Snooth forums TH. As you can see, we like to abbreviate our names to make it easier but in reality it's due to our limited attention span which results from wine consumption. A vicious circle I suppose.
