My name is Mitch. I am a 29 year old graduate of North Carolina State University and currently work and live in Raleigh, NC. I'd say my wine knowledge is best amongst my cohort of friends, but minimal compared to actual wine experts. I tell people that I don't know the exact viticulture of all the grape varieties that I love, but I at least know the word viticulture. So that's a start. I look forward to learning more through this site.

Welcome. It's good to learn and be able to enlighten those around you. More important however, is that you try wine often and learn why you like certain tastes and smells and eventually to be able to distinguish between them. Just when you think you can identify a Malbec versus a Syrah, do a blind tasting and you'll feel like a beginner again! I prefer to take a passive approach when in company because I often find that there's someone who knows FAR more than myself! Anyway, enjoy lots of wine...
