I'm a wine lover based in Monterey County, California. Since I love wine, I started writing two wine blogs to learn and share about wine.

Hey Emark,
Actually a lot is going on with Monterey county wines. Wine Enthusiast named Monterey County as one of the 10 Best New Wine Destinations in the world which as you might imagine has created a buzz around here.
An I believe that the winemakers are really going for artisanal, hand crafted wines and the boutique wine industry is undergoing a huge boom.
I love living here :)

I'm not surprised to see Monterey recognized as a wine destination. C'mon, Monterey is just a great destination.
Way back in the 20th century, I would look for Rieslings from Monterey. Ventana, for example, was an excellent producer of Rieslings. Clearly, Riesling does not get the buzz that it deserves anymore, and it appears that the best California Rieslings are coming from the Anderson Valley, these days.
