Hello Snooth!

Hello all,

Ive been a wine enthusiast for many years, however my wine world has expanded as I recently just was awarded my WSET advanced certification.  I now feel that  I can carry on with an intelligent conversation without feeling overwhelmed.     I look forward to many conversations about wine and life with all you fellow snoothers!

Welcome to the Snooth Forum, WFD.  We look forward to your contributions.  Why don't you tell us a bit more about yourself.  Of interest to most of us is what wines you are enjoying, lately.

well  Iam a full time firefighter/paramedic, who is looking to enter the wine field in a part time basis and hope to parlay it into an exciting career before or after I retire.  I currently just pick out any wines that I find interesting, but I guess you could say I really been enjoying spanish wines latley (tempranillo, monastrell, albarino, garnacha)  Anyway thats what i am about......

Wow, WFD, that is a much more interesting introduction.

I currently just pick out any wines that I find interesting.

I'd wager that 100% of the participants here on the Snooth Forum espouse that same philosophy.  By playing here, I find that my concept of what wine is "interesting" gets expanded by reading about the experiences of others.

I and a lot of other people here are on the same page with you on Spanish wines--many outstanding wines and, fortunately, priced so that many of them are outstanding values.

We look forward to chatting with you in the future, WFD.

do  I sense some sarcasm with that " Wow thats a much more interesting introduction"? :)

The sarcasm usually comes out of my keyboard but EMark has his moments. ;)

Well. I guess I messed that up, WFD.  I really thought that your mentioning your professional career, your wine philosophy and your current enthusiasm about Spanish wines were quite interesting and told me a lot about you.

I can understand the way you read it, though.  I do try to write carefully, but sometimes I just get lazy and don't completely think through things.

I always take OT's comments seriously.  He is an unrepentant truth teller.

WFD, by any chance do you live near Oakland, CA?  If so, do you have any plans for Saturday, October 26?  One of our premier participants is generously opening up his home for a group of us to meet and taste some Pinot Noirs.

Yes, please invite WineFD to our event--just in case I start a fire, it would be really helpful to have him there.  Even better, we need help drinking the wine and I can add a couple more regions that way.
