Hi there. I live in New Orleans, LA, and am a fairly new wine junkie. I have always enjoyed wine, but relied on others to do the picking. Now I am on a mission to try every style possible, and discern my own tastes, while also learning as much as possible about wine. I tend to like dry red blends, but really only knew California wines before. I've learned I like both banks of Bordeaux, California blends, Tuscans and a variety of Spanish wines. I love dry whites as well, and am working my way through those varietals. My cellar is slowly taking shape, and loved the articles here on building your cellar.
I look forward to hearing what you all are drinking and sharing mine as well.

Hello LBWLAW and welcome to Snooth.
As a previous denizen of New Orleans, I can only think you'll be drinking lots of white wines and roses for the next few months!
We all share our experiences here, so it'll be fun to see what you're drinking as well. Martin's still a great store down there?

Let me add my welcome, LBWLAW. As you suggest, this forum is an excellent place for us to exchange our opinions and experiences.
I have to say that I chuckled but was also impressed by your mission statement. I think most of us here have the same curiosity te experience as many wines in as many styles and to learn as much as we can. Personally, I've been at it, as an avocation, for over 40 years, and I learn new stuff every day.

Thanks for the welcome. Gregory, Martin's is an excellent source here. This really is an excellent wine town, with good shops and restaurant wine lists. As for Roses, I'm a novice, and will have to learn which ones meet my dry preference. I'm open for suggestions.
EMARK, I do tend to go at things a little manically, but there is so much wine to taste!
As for what I'm drinking, last night 2004 Dancing Hares Red (it was my birthday and not my usual weekday bottle). Tonight is Michael David Petite Petit.
