Hello Everyone on Snooth!

Posted by PennyM850, Jun 22.

My favorite type of wine is Cabernet Sauvignon.  It's not the only wine I like, though.  I have favorites in every category.

I live in Wichita, KS.  Would love to meet some friends here that also enjoy wine.

Email me if you live in Wichita!

Welcome Penny,

You'll find lots of interesting people here, especially if you like Cab sav!  There's plenty of Californians (not that they only like cab, on the  contrary).  I don't recall anyone from Wichita.  Do you have any favourite (sorry, I'm Canadian and we put "u' in words ending in "or") Cabs?

My favorite wine is Le Ragnaie Brunello di Montalcino - but I can't afford it very often.  when I went to Italy I visited the Banfi Winery and fell in love with their Chianti.  But I have a lot of different wines I really like.  Just wish I had more folks in my life that liked wine.  :)

Welcome Penny M.

I have a couple of those Le Ragnaie Brunello's sleeping in my cellar. Where did you find that wine? Garagiste for me.

Now you're talking my language.  I love Brunello and Barolo.  I don't drink them often. I have about five of each on hand, at least ten years old (some are 15 now), and I replace them occasionally.  If one drank them daily...they'd lose a bit of their magic.

Welcome to the Snooth Forum, Penny.  I'm anywhere near Wichita--I'm another one of those California guys that DV referenced--but I always enjoy chatting with people on this forum.  I particularly love chatting with fans of Cabernet Sauvignon.  I do admit to being partial to Cabs from Napa Valley.  I regularly enjoy samples from Keenan and Chappellet.

Of course, being a Californian I am also a big fan of Zinfandel--Ridge and Seghesio have always been favorites, but, thanks to recommendations from participants here, I am now also a big fan of Bedrock and Mauritson.

Penny, what is you comfort zone for pricing on Cab? I've had some very enjoyable bottles lately that I could recommend but don't want to scare you off if they don't fit your budget.
