gr & RBoulanger in San Francisco
Posted by gr, Aug 28.

Rather late notice, but RBoulanger and I will both be in the SF Bay Area next week. I'm in town all week (Sunday through the following Monday, Labor Day), first for the VMworld conference (at the Moscone Center) and then over the weekend for a friend's wedding. RB will be around for the latter half of the week and the wedding.

If anybody'd care to meet up, drop me a line here. I've something of a list of cocktail bars to visit, but I suppose I could have my arm twisted toward wine at some point. ;^>

Bourbon and Branch - thats the secret password bar in Sf, right?

If "secret password" just means "faux speakeasy", then yes, but B&B doesn't require a password, they just require that you make a reservation both for when you'll arrive and when you'll leave, and they expect a certain caliber of dress in keeping with their pretending it's 1931 inside the joint.

Not sure whether RB and I will get there or not. My rough list to distribute through the week, for the moment anyway, is:

Alembic
Absinthe
Heaven's Dog
Rye (?)
Bourbon & Branch
Clock Bar
Rickhouse
Bix
Slanted Door

they give you a password when you make the reservation - you do need to be able to recall it to get in

Haha, okay. I've obviously never been. I'm was kinda over that sort of hassle after the first time I went to PDT.
