Hello, fellow snoothers!
I will be spending 10 days in Perugia this summer attending the annual Umbria Jazz Festival, and I'm planning to get plenty of wine experiences during that stay. Does anyone have any wine related tips or recommendations for Umbria and the Perugia region in particular? Wines, wineries, places to go, places to dine and wine, everything wine and/or food related.
I know that Umbria have some of the best areas for black truffles in Italy, and that they have some great hams that I'm looking forward to try. I also will visit Torgiano just south of Perugia and the various attractions of the Lungarotti family there, for instance the renowned wine museum.
If you know anything that you think I might be interested in, please shout out! :)

You must visit Paolo Bea. Maker of Sagrantino Di Montefalco and many more great wines worthy of trying. I've heard they are very nice people to visit as well.

Hi There. We are 2 locals from Umbria and write on a blog called UmbriaLoversBlog. Yes, Montefalco is one of the best place for winw, the Sagrantino di Montefalco is one of the greatest wines. There are lots of cellars there, one close to another, Antonelli, Scacciadiavoli, Bea, Caprai just to name few of them. Bea is cool but also Scacciadiavoli has a great wine. Antonelli should do FREE cellar visit+tasting.
Bevagna also is a nice place to go where there a couple of great ones like Dionigi.
About Perugia: a nice place to go is "La bottega del vino", a vinery in the centre of Perugia, they have also concerts during the festival, it sould be nice. Another one is Enonè a small restaurant built inside a medieval building, it's a bit out the center but you can get there easily by feet (10min from the center).
Hope to have helped, if you need other tips just email us, you can find our contact on our blog:
