Hello;
It looks as if this website is about to have a surge in traffic in the up-coming days. It was featured in the "lifehacker (lifehacker.com) blog, which is quite a popular technology / life journal followed by quite a populous including yours truly.

I am a 23 year old university student out of Vancouver, Canada who is some-what new to wine. I keep a very amateur wine log, and have transferred most of it into the "my-wines" section. I would love to read some of the opinions of the more experienced drinkers here in the forums of the very small collection that sits in my profile.

Please be gentle.
P.S. I don't love you.

Welcome to Snooth, Nyctobello. Seems you like, amongst other things, sherry. Me, too. Have you tried any of the lighter Finos or Manzanillas? I recommend some I like that I know are available in North America here:

Nyctobello - welcome to the site. Lifehacker and Mashable both wrote about us last week, so we had a fair number of new users - hope you enjoy what you see here

Hey Nyctobello, welcome to Snooth.

I see the wines you have reviewed in your my wines list, it looks like a great stat, especially the Alvear products, one of my favorite houses!

I look forward to reading your contributions here!

Thank you all. I enjoy quite a bit of sherry and in response to dmcker, I have not tried the aforementioned. I mostly enjoy sherries prepared via amontillado route.

It seems the most robust and fresh out of them all.
Gregory, do you have any suggestion for a good, cheap bottle of amontillado?

Well how cheap are we talkin about?

The Lustau Rare Amontillado "Esquadrilla" is about $25 and one of my all time favorites. Their Los Arcos bottling is almost as good and about $15.

The Osborne is solid at less than $15 and the Barbadillo is good if uninspiring at closer to $10.

I think that for value it's tough to beat the Dios Baco at about $18 though.

They're all worth trying and offer good value but if you want a treat try the Lustau Almacenista Obregon bottling at around $30 or the Hidalgo Pastrana Amontillado Viejo at around $50.

OK those definitely got away from reasonably priced but are still worth the money for a treat!
