Snooth Talk: Free Riesling tastings in NYC this week

: Posted by Uwe Kristen, Mar 17, 2009.; Lars Carlberg from the Mosel Wine Merchant will be in town this week and with him are going to be two producers from his eclectic portfolio: Ulli Stein and Matthias Knebel. There will be two free tastings, at Crush on Thursday and at Chambers Street Wines on Friday. I have been following MWM since they started importing Mosel Riesling to the US (other producers include Günther Steinmetz and Clemens Busch) and find the quality of these wines to be outstanding every year.

Apparently, Stein will showcase the first Mosel straw wine since 1971 at the tastings (straw wine was outlawed by German authorities, but Stein fought them in court and won).
