email address change on account

Posted by gr, Jun 4, 2007.

I added +snooth to the user section of my email address.

Now I'm told "Your account is not yet confirmed."

I check, I don't have an email yet. I don't understand what to do.

Now, of course, the email showed up before I was done typing this, and that's fine, but you should SAY that an email's on the way. Please and thank you.

Oh, and you also need to say what to do if that email never arrives. That's a bit harder, think about that one.

Also, email address change confirmation email should have different content than the initial account creation email. Duh, I KNOW "some of the things you can do on Snooth", I just changed my damn email address. Fine to include that, but acknowledge that it was an email address (or whatever other info) change, not an account creation.

Agreed on all counts. We will make sure this is addressed.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: major kudos for accepting + as a valid LHS character in email addresses, which was the bug I actually did this hoping to expose pre-release. My /etc/mail/aliases file thanks you more.

`awk -F: '$NF ~ /gr$/ { print $1 }' /etc/mail/aliases` sez these people suck more than you do (and this is just since the old uriel exploded and I rebuilt my postfix environment by hand; I'm pretty sure there were about twenty lines of this before the old boy's demise):

cingular
axis
mycheckfree
pncbank
opentable

phillycarshare

(Yeah, really, phillycarshare too. Shame, shame!)
