Dessert Truck

Some guy from my school started this. I have a real sweet tooth, so suddenly am developing a hankering for figs in marscapone!

I tried this place last night. Cool idea and well thought out. For $5 you get a pretty tasty dessert in an aluminum tin. I tried the Chocolate Bread Pudding with Bacon Creme Anglais. You have a choice to have bacon flavor in your cream sauce or not. They just have a bank of ovens in their truck keeping things warm. Everything is pre-portioned and ready to go.

Might be a GREAT thing, but not sure what you just posted helps; I know some HUGE meat eaters and I can't say as any of them as ever wanted bacon in their dessert. Seems a bit strange to me!

For some reason I can never find the damn thing! I think it's avoiding me...and my waistline thanks it for that...

I had a savory bacon ice cream waffle as a fancy chicago restaurant (Butter i think it was called). In fact I think it was this one:

Anyway, not good at all. So i'm equally concerned about having bacon in a dessert - Adam, how was that?

Bacon with dessert is quite yummy! Then again, I really like my sweets to have a bit of salty to them as well and I go out of my way to eat the native bacon in every country I visit.

I had a brioche bread pudding with rum raisin ice cream and a bacon crisp just the other day in New York, and I have had bacon ice cream at a gastro pub in Bray, England. Both were spectacular. I am sure it is one of those things that has to be done just right. There isn't any of the bacon fat in it (that would be absolutely foul cold), just the yummy crispy part.

I was reading recently that there is now a waffle truck, a gourmet ice cream truck, a dessert truck knock-off called the treats truck, a cupcake truck, and a dumpling truck now roaming the downtown area. Where is the wine truck? Perhaps that can be snooth's next venture. :)
