Hi all! Heading off to Paphos, Cyprus in November to get married to my wonderful fiance.
IInstinctively, I did some research on Cypriot wine to find the region actually has a rather long history of wine tradition (dating to 3500 BC) and claims to have produced the oldest, continually produced wine of the world. (A desert wine called 'Commandaria')
At any rate, as always, I want to explore anywhere and everywhere wine is offered. Has anyone paid a visit to a Cypriot winery worth popping into, know of any local varietals or labels worth checking out, or simply have any advice on learning/experiencing the wine regions in Cyprus?

I went to Cyprus on holiday a few years ago and took a guided tour of the Troudos mountains which included a visit to a winery, the name of which I cannot remember. It was a little embarasing because they served samples to everyone in the party and then asked if anyone would like to buy some but not one person did so.Our tour guide was not very happy as I think the plkace was owned by a member of his family.Mind you the quality was not good
