I was invited to a tasting meant for restaurant managers, somms, etc., to choose wines for their venues. Lucky me! Thanks to Patrick Pretz of Crush Wines for an outtanding experience. It was a great opportunity for me to meet many winemakers and taste a broad range of wines. I will link the wines I tasted if anyone would like to see the info or check my reviews. Most are just rated, as there were too many to take in depth notes on. Looking back and considering the volume of wines tasted, I think to myself, thank the lord for the spit bucket!
The cognac guy at the end also had a bottle under the table I was able to taste from, 1951! Amazing flavor and intensity and awesome to be able to taste such an old bottle. Handwritten label and everything! What an afternoon!
The greatest thing, is that having met so many winemakers, I had connections and invitations to visit their wineries whenever in the area and recently on my week long trip to Napa, I did arrange to visit some! Those posts to come.
